Prospect Community Park

The Prospect Park is proud to be a part of Marion County’s America 250- Marion Trails, Tales, & Treasures!

Co-led by the Marion Community Foundation and the Marion CVB, who are dedicated to planning and promoting a year-long commemoration of the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026.

Whether you’re cheering others on at a baseball game, playing a round of disc golf, or just visiting during one of the many special events throughout the year, there’s plenty to do and see while at the park all year long!

While walking along one of our walking paths, take a moment to ponder and give thanks to Prospect’s veterans and POW/MIA at our Veteran’s Memorial.

The park also offers an engaging playground, shelter rentals and public restrooms to visitors. For more information on shelter rentals, please contact Judi Anderson at (740) 751-8098.

Greenspur Nature Preserve

4990 LaRue Prospect Rd S
Prospect, OH 43342

Greenspur, located on St. Rt. 203 2 1/2 miles north of Prospect, is a seven acre wooded area. It is on the spur line from the old Interurban line to the old power plant along the Scioto River. It is largely second-growth woodland.

The local match for this land was donated to the park district by former Marion County Commissioner John Watkins, and the balance was provided by a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

A small pond on the property provides a wetland.
